Following a significant geographical expansion from a provincial midweek competition in the southwest of the county, backed by The Surrey Cricket Foundation, 2018 saw the birth of The Surrey Slam with a single tier Men's competition that attracted 64 teams in the first edition concluding with a win for Spencer Spitfires at the inaugural Finals' Day at Beddington CC. Short format cricket in the county hasn't been the same since and the following year saw the launch of the Women's competition!

The growth in the Women's game continues with 29 teams confirmed for 2024 and entry for both the Men's Cup and Plate is now open, and with advanced interest from new teams larger than ever before, everything is pointing to next season being the biggest yet in the county.
