the slam launches in middlesex

We are absolutely thrilled to confirm that The Slam will expand to 4 counties in 2026!
Working in partnership with Middlesex In The Community, we will begin with a mixed competition pitched at the same level of The Cups in Hampshire, Surrey & Sussex so as to maximise the number of players that are eligible to participate in it. However, the ambition is very much to expand further in the future. You can find out all the exciting details HERE and entry is now open, along with all the other counties. The first 24 teams that join up will receive 15 bespoke, coloured playing shirts!! |
SURREY GOES TO THREE TIERS FOR MEN & WOMEN
|
We are delighted to confirm that The Surrey Slam will be expanding for everyone in 2026.
As part of a restructuring of the short-format game for women, the pre-existing Cup and Shield are being slightly raised in level to fill the void left by the Elite T20 competition that will no longer run. This creates the space for the very exciting new Trophy competition, which will provide a genuine hard ball entry-level option. This is ideal for those with players who are just finding their way in hard ball, be it graduating from junior ranks or perhaps from the popular soft ball game. Its the same pairs format at soft ball thereby providing a perfect, inclusive environment for growing the game. In addition to the women's side of things the men's Slam will also have a Trophy competition, deliberately pitched at the lower end of the recreational game. With a lower batting retirement score, and a maximum of 3 overs per bowler, it provides an inclusive option that is ideal for those coming back into the game or graduating from junior cricket. FIRST SUSSEX SLAM SCHOLARS HAVE BEEN SELECTED
|
We are thrilled to confirm that our first two Sussex Slam scholars have been selected.
After a thorough application and selection process we are delighted that Clara and Toby will be supported for the next 2 years on the Sussex Pathway by The Slam and John Lewis & Partners. We are just in the process of getting them fully kitted out and look forward to following their enjoyment of their cricketing journey. We'd love to expand this initiative to other areas that The Slam covers, so if you're an organisation or an individual interested in co-operating with us then please get in touch HERE |
The Slam is a different brand of recreational, short-form cricket with 330 teams taking part across 3 counties in 2025 and expanding to 4 counties next year with Middlesex being added to the family.
The Slam works directly with County Cricket Foundations to provide cricket that more people can and want to play and with that is proven to increase recreational cricket participation both in the men's and women's game
Full details of how The Slam can benefit you as a player wanting to get back into the game; as an established club wanting to increase its membership; or even as a group of friends wanting to put your own team together, can be found in the ABOUT section
