FREE, FUN, multi-generational,
​pairs SOFT BALL cricket

One of the great attractions of cricket is how it can span across generations and THE SLAM 2 GEN is a fun event that provides a comfortable environment for anyone wanting to give cricket a go as well as also offering a different dynamic for those already involved.

​Getting involved in cricket for the first time or so can be scary for anyone, young or old, it appears both complicated and requiring of a degree of skill before you can even get started! We also know it can be quite daunting to come into a large team game when you're on your own.

Well, The Slam 2 Gen is here so that you can get involved just as a pair with a friend or family member and to show you that the game isn't as complicated as you may fear, all in a fun-filled 1 hour session.

The only rule is that your pair MUST consist of two different generations AND one of those must be in current school year 10 or below. You'll stay in that pair throughout the game, so you'll always have someone you know alongside you and able to help out.

You'll bat as a pair; you'll bowl & keep wicket as a pair; and you'll field together in the same part of the pitch. Pairs will rotate around the various easy to see stations ensuring everyone gets to enjoy every aspect of the game.

Slam 2 Gen cricket ensures its safe for everyone by:

• only using a soft ball, so there's no need for intimidating pads and helmets and no need for you to bring equipment;
• ensuring only juniors bowl to junior batters (either over or under arm), with adults bowling to adult batters;
• having adults field immediately in front of their junior counterparts when an adult is batting and swapping round when a junior is batting;
• deploying scoring rules that discourage adults from overly big hitting;

Our very first SLAM 2 GEN event will be at SLINFOLD CRICKET CLUB on JUBILEE BANK HOLIDAY, THURSDAY 2ND JUNE.
