THE SLAM SURVEY
The 2024 Slam season is starting to conclude as teams fall away during the knockout stages, so its a good time to start receiving your feedback.
We want to know how we're doing in providing 'More Cricket For More People' this year, but we are also keenly aware that The Slam has to continue evolving to achieve this. So, here is your opportunity to provide us with your ideas to improve things. Suggestions from more than 2 team will automatically go to a democratic vote to see if it will be implemented ahead of next season.

MATCH BALL STANDARD
We'd like all teams to take more consideration over the questions around the ball quality. There is the opportunity to raise the standard of the ball, but it will result in a £2.35 increase per ball, which results in a £14 increase per team for the base level entry fee in 2025. Please note that this is separate to any increase that may be required due to other costs, but as ever these are always kept to an absolute minimum.
When extrapolated, this increase equates to 22p per player, per match for the Men's competition, and 30p for the Women's competition, so would expect that to be manageable.
A decision on this will be based upon the voting result across ALL Slam competitions as any upgrade would have to be deployed across the board.

MEN'S GROUP STAGE FORMAT
On a number of occasions over recent years there has been the need to amend a particular group's format at short notice to a weekly model, which has proven somewhat successful, to the point where we wonder if this is the format that should be used for all Men's groups moving forward. Note that because Women's matches often take place on Sundays rather than midweek and fixtures work around league fixtures, this proposal doesn't apply to any of the Women's competitions.
The proposal is to keep the 4-team group stage at 8 weeks long, but to potentially fit more fixtures into it. There are positives and negatives to either option, so please look through the image below, which maps it all out.
The aim of all group stages is to have 4 teams in each group, but note that where 3, 5 or 6 team groups become necessary they will broadly follow whatever principle is agreed for the 4-team format, no team(s) will be in a materially worse position through being a group of more or less teams than 4.
Voting on which model you prefer is included in the wider survey below.
