After a successful two years of providing season-extending, short-format cricket for the County League Division 2 and 3 teams, The Slam has now added a further tier so that those playing Division 1 cricket can experience the fun of this format on midweek evenings during the season.

NEW FOR 2026, the following changes have been made since 2025:

• There have been some changes to the player eligibility levels for both the Cup and Shield to retain their competitiveness. Most notably there are restrictions imposed on players who participate in the Hampshire Cricket League mixed Divisions. Ensure that you are fully aware of the new restrictions.
• The Cup will be expanded to provide more matches across the season.
• The (not out) retirement score for batters has been reduced to 40.

2026 entry is now OPEN!

Team entry is just £106 for the Cup and £83 for the Shield, for which the following is included:

• Minimum of 6 matches in the Cup / 4 in the Shield;
• 6 new, pink, Slam-branded, Lords match balls (4 in the Shield), tracked delivered to an address of your choice (supplementary Lords balls can be ordered at just £11.35 each);
• Design, production and full & free use of unique team logo;
• Showpiece Finals' Day including independent umpires;
• Access to preferential match kit rates at our partner SHARKS

Whilst a set number of brand new match balls are included in the entry fee (which is all you MUST have), you are more than welcome to order more as spares or for other matches. 

Before submitting a team entry, please ensure that you have:

• familiarised yourself with all the rules, which you can access from the menu above, ​but particularly those in relation to PLAYER ELIGIBILITY as it is vital that you adhere to them throughout the competition as failure to do so will see the match(es) awarded to your opponent; and 
• if you are a nomadic team, read the NOMADIC TEAMS detail, which clarifies the particular arrangements that are in place for such teams.
